Starting in San Francisco, California, I headed out to the coast and down toward Monterey. Alas, opting for speed over scenery, I soon headed inland for the ultra-fast US 1. After visting friends in LA and San Diego, I headed out to the desert-oasis Santa Fe for several days. Eventually I got back on the road off to Dallas.

Once in Dallas I stayed for a while with friends and enjoying the city that used to be my home. Eventually I headed down to Austin, the city that I wish had been my home, and then off to New Orleans (a city far too crazy to be a home to me).

After New Orleans I headed to Orlando to visit my parents for a few days, and then up the coast to DC. DC, which I discovered to be a fantastic city, I stayed in visiting friends for a couple days, and then headed off for my original homeland in the north.

My final leg in the US took me through Kentuky and Ohio, where I my extended family for a few days. Then off to Saginaw, Michigan -- probably the most accurate "home town" for me as it's where I went to Swan Valley High School -- to visit high-school friends. Finally off to Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan, and Ypsilianti (home of my brother). With the US tour complete, I hopped on a bus in the seedy part of Ann Arbor and started the long trip south to Mexico.
